TOKYO: Torisoba 156 (Ichikoro) 鶏そば十番156

Nick and I have been walking past this certain ramen shop everytime we are in Tokyo, but for some reason everytime we are craving ramen close to the apartment, we always walk straight to Afuri ( click to read) which was then my favourite chicken ramen.
This time we flipped a coin and decided to try this particular ramen shop - Torisoba 156.

Apparently although this ramen shop just started a few years ago, it already has multiple branches including one in spain!

Nick and I had the Tori Paitan Aosa ramen 900yen
It comes with chicken slices, soy egg, seaweed and bamboo shoots

Boy, the soup was to die for ! We finished up the whole bowl

We super enjoyed ourself so much we sacrificed trying another restaurant we really wanted to try ( French place) for another night of satisfying food at Ichikoro the next night.

This time I ordered their boiled chicken.... 390yen
Which tasted ordinary but came on a nice plate.

Nick had the ebi kara tantanmen 980yen
It was nice but a little too spicy for me.

Afuri or here you may ask... hmmmmmm
difficult decision! I think it really depends what you feel like that night, something abit more creamy ( Ichikoro aosa ramen) or Afuri clear broth.
Or if you just feel like chicken ramen, you may always have both since theyre so near in other anyway hahaha.

TOKYO: Matsukan まつ勘 Azabu post 3

Ohmygod, at this rate of me visiting Tokyo at least once every year and definitely having to have a meal at this restaurant, I think I could reach up to Matsukan post 10 :p

Previously blogged at : Matsukan Azabu
Matsukan Azabu post 2

This time is abit more special. Because we went with our friends - Yihan and Enxin. And you know how when you go with elderly people and younger people its a little bit different because when youre young you can afford to be greedier.

And so we ate and ate and ate, we were so full up to our throat !
We had the usual omakase set and requested for a few more sushis, in total we had SEVENTEEN.

Yuba - silky smooth !

One of my favourite in this shop = crab dripped in ?vinegar sauce

 Bonito

 Giant scallop wrapped with seaweed

OIISHIIIII Chutoro !
To be honest, this  chutoro was sooooo fatty it could definitely pass off as an otoro. I'm pretty sure sushi chains like my favourite one in Adelaide - Genki sushi would just pass this off as an otoro.

 White fish?

THIS IS SO SPECIAL - Seasoned jellyfish with oba leaf
Imagine if all wedding dinners served this instead of the normal marinated one ahhhhhh
Can i import this for my wedding ?!

 ?white fish

Oh, another of my favourite. RICE WITH UNI !
#1 IKURA SHIP. will never be able to taste such juicy ikura just bursting with flavours in your mouth!

I'm usually not a fan of anago but this was done so well and its so creamy !

Small prawns - also very special !

 Za cai

This concludes the end of the Omakase, the following were what we further requested because we are greedy AF.

 Akagai
So flavourful and just springy enough to result in satisfaction from chewing

 GIANT OYSTERS
I had one but Enxin is super greedy one, she slurped THREEEEEEEEE

Aburi Otoro which sorta just peeled off and melted in your mouth! SO GOOD
I keep thinking, why was this otoro aburi-ed instead of eating it raw?
I really cant imagine how awesome this would taste if the chutoro was so heavenly already

Okay, so my last request for the night was Shirako. Also known as milt, Also known as fish sperm.
I've never had it before, but I've always wanted to try and I thought I'd better try it at a reputable place
I didn't know why the chefs sorta gave me a very incredulous look when I said I wanted to try it hmmmmm
Anyhow, THIS WAS AMAZING. It was creamy it was so flavourful it tasted a little like eggs

I COULD EAT A WHOLE BOWL OF THIS !

TOKYO: DUMBO doughnuts and coffee

I live in Azabujuban, and previously I've made mentions of a couple of breakfast places you can try out if you're in the vicinity - Famous taiyaki
Matzukan sushi
Matzukan sushi 2
Breakfast in Tokyo

Previously as a medical student, I didn't really drink coffee. It probably sent me into SVT because I can really feel my heart racing. And I do actually start getting a headache + feel nauseas wtf

However, because money is hard to earn, and I have to come home late and wake up early every day and I have not enough sleep, I've turned to coffee for energy.

Hahahaha, nah jokes. Actually maybe just some truth it that sentence. Rather, the medical team usually go for coffee rounds some time during the day and I feel judged when I order something other than a type of coffee. Lol.

So.... just like the exposure therapy thingy to people who have allergies to products ( you know, the treatment where they slowly expose you bit by bit to the allergens so that your body slowly gets desensitised ), I essentially did the same to myself and now my morning self will never be the same without coffee.

I stumbled upon this pretty instagrammable place a couple of weeks ago and was thrilled that it's at Azabujuban ! Because this means, I don't have to travel a long way to gram this :p

I have yet to try the doughnuts because I was gonna meet Med Reg Khee for lunch BUT, They look so AMAZING !
Their coffee is made using %Arabica beans. It's so smooth a nice ! And this thrills me so much because TOMORROW I SHALL GO HAVE COFFEE AT %arabica itself in Kyoto !!

Dumbo is Definitely a good place to perk your mornings/afternoons if you're in Azabujuban

TOKYO: Matsukan Azabu post 2

I have previously posted about Matsukan Azabu. And I think I've raved about how its a sushi restaurant I have to visit everytime I'm in Tokyo. In fact, I think I've been there so often ( actually not very la, max 2-3x a year) until the kawaii chef also recognises me and my snorlax balanciaga. hahahaha.

You may read my previous post here

The purpose of this post is just to show you the variety of sushis you may get at this restaurant. As well as you make you hungrier than you already are hahahaha.

My kawaii chubby chef deserves 2 picture of him at work ! :D

 Kaki - sukidesu yo!

Ootoro also deserves 2 pictures !
