TOKYO: Harajuku ( Com Crepes コムクレープ原宿店 , Zaku Zaku ザクザク, Coisof, Eiswalt Gelato )

So I always make a trip to Harajuku regardless how time tight I am when I'm in Japan. It's near Meiji Jingu shrine which is a plus point because I visit the shrine every trip, sometimes maybe twice a trip because it's just so calming ! It gives me such inner peace!

I always eat the same thing when I'm in Harajuku - THE CREPES! and this time I actually tried other desserts there.

I've previously blogged about the famous 3 crepes places here - Harajuku Takeshita Dori ( click) , and Marion crepe & Cafe crepe Harajuku

I'm gonna introduce a new crepe place to you today!

Please don't ask me which one is better, because crepe is crepe la ok. They all taste good haha.

This is a newly opened crepe called comcrepe. It's making the japanese go crazy because instead of the usual cream and banana or strawberry or ice cream, this is a creme brulee crepe !

The second place I'm gonna introduce is Zaku Zaku. I remember first seeing it 3 years ago and holy cow, the queue was so long, I did not bother.

Zaku Zaku is a store that specialises in unique cream puffs using the freshest ingredients from Hokkaido.

I bought both their soft serve as well as their Croquant Choux. What is croquant choux you may ask? It means crispy cream puff. And FYI, zaku zaku means crunchy. So there you go, crunchy crispy cream puffs :D

1 croquant choux - 280yen
1 soft serve - 450yen

I still recommend Cremia over this soft serve anytime.

FYI, Cremia is my FAVOURITE original flavour ice cream. There was once I saw this influencer type something on instagram that was along the lines of " got my hopes so high but was disappointed " I almost wanted to create a fake account and flame her. LOL. This is how much I LOVE cremia. I would even consider doing something so irrational.

And the third place, which has been making waves on instagram is none other than this super instagrammable ice cream shop Coisof. I actually also call this style of ice cream Turd Looking ice cream.

Very instagrammable :D Didn't taste too bad either (: They serve 3 different flavours - white sesame, black sesame, and mix of white and black sesame. Their sesame ice cream come from specialist purveyors Gomaya Kuki. Interestingly enough, their name combines the japanese words for " love " and " richness" both pronounced Koi. And their drawcard is the " love soft cream", a Kagawa prefecture speciality said to invite love into one's life and decorated with colourful toppings sprinkled on top of the ice cream.
So if you're looking to have some steamy romance hehehehhehe, best make a beeline for this shop :p

Fourth place to recommend is this new gelato joint which first opened in LA.
How can you ever bear to eat such cute gelato?! And the best part is, unlike some things which are good to look only, this also tastes really good !

TOKYO: Harajuku Takeshita Dori Crepes 竹下通り

One of my favourite go to place in Tokyo is Meiji Jing-gu. Somehow I dont know why but Japanese Shrines always give me a sense of peace. I think I feel the happiest and at ease whenever I step into the shrine.

Usually there's quite a bit of walking to do when youre visiting a shrine like Meiji Jinggu because there's just so many different gates and gardens and the main hall is really.. haha quite a distant. I am ALWAYS hungry after a visit to the shrine.

Post shrine, I usually drop by Harajuku. I really like this place because it's perfect to people watch. Harajuku is home to many of Japan's youth sub-cultures and is a magnet for cosplayers and merchants of cool.
Another reason is because, THEY ARE CREPE SHOPS :D YES DESSERTS!!

There are 4 crepes shop present.
1. Santa Monica
2. Marion Crepes
3. Cafe crepes Angel hearts
4.Sweet Box

You know, I'm a very very loyal person. Once I like something or somebody or a certain shop, I feel this sense of betrayal over me whenever I do not stick to them.
I remember asking a bunch of Japanese girls during my first trip to Tokyo which crepe is the best, and they unanimously said CAFE CREPES ANGEL HEARTS!

Henceforth, I have been patronising cafe crepes since 2013. I've been told that Cafe crepes angel heart is one of the oldest crepe shop in harajuku!

Cafe crepes serves both savoury and sweet crepes. But I'm a bigger fan of sweet crepes. (:
Savoury crepes.. should only be eaten at a French creperie. hahaha

 Strawberry cheesecake

 Chocolate banana cream

TADAH. Okay, this was the day I went crazy and ate 2 crepes consecutively. Until I had to photoshop my fat face to make it skinnier wtf.

Now that I'm getting more serious about this blog, I promise I will definitely return to try out the other 3 crepes. Hopefully maybe Nick will be able to help with me a blind test from all 4 crepe places.

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates!
