We flew in last week with this girl I've been friends with for almost a decade :o
So yes being good hosts we brought her around to dine at some of our favourite restaurants in adelaide.
My friend really loves her beef, and there's nowhere in Adelaide better for steak than.... GAUCHO'S Argentinian restaurant !
Gaucho's is a relentless popular restaurant that revels in its prime gouger street location. Fun fact, it is also the first Argentinian restaurant in australia
We started our dinner with a shared plate of chorizo ($24.50).
Pera ensalada ($12)
Salad of pear, witlof, radicchio, pecorino and roasted walnuts. Yummy
Last but not least of our starters, my favourite calamar Bebe con morcilla ($20.90). It's baby calamari stuffed with SA gulf prawns and Spanish black chorizo served with roasted capsicum, basil and olives.
We were in the sharing is caring mood that night haha so instead of getting 3 individual steaks, we decided to get 3 different steaks to share. gaucho's was really nice to accede to the request and plated all our steaks on a wooden board, equally sliced to share amongst 3 as well !
Left: bife ancho - scotch fillet 350g ($41)
Right: vaquita cordobesa - eye fillet 250g ($36.90)
I've always been a fan of scotch fillets, to be honest I've never tried eye fillet before. It was actually pretty yummy, very lean, very soft, perfect for ladies who want a good piece of steak yet do not want to put on much calories!
And our last shared steak....
Churrasco grande - Wagyu rump 500g ($61)
Rumps are never my choice of cut because I find it too tough, but I guess we can all make an exception for gaucho's wagyu rumps. With its high marbling score of 8, it was nice and soft and beautiful.
My friend rated this steak dish best out of all.
