For as long as I remember, I have been a HUGE fan of takoyaki ( octopus balls). I remember going down to Orchard Road after school last time, heading over to Ngee Ann City basement to Takopachi and getting 6 balls. I think they cost $4.80 or something back then.
I haven't been to Osaka until this trip but I've heard many great things especially from Nick who has been there twice and stuffed his face in all the good food. And I was so excited because Osaka is the place that is really famous for takoyakis and I had researched all the takoyaki shops I was gonna vist
Turned out i overestimated my stomach, there was no way I could squeeze 15 different takoyaki shop's takoyakis on top of other food.
This popular Glico man in dotonbori:D
Need a picture with Glico man!
My first snack in dotonbori : Kukuru takoyaki
I am so impressed at how quickly takoyakis are served here! The max you ever have to wait is 10 mins and that's because you were unlucky enough to have to wait for the new batch to be made. And I realised, many because there's so many tourists, EVERY Takoyaki shop has a long queue.
Such a small world, ran into some friends from Adelaide at the disney store.
Speaking of which, I have recently lost my Eeyore plushie which I've always hung on my longchamp while on the way to New Zealand. Most heardbreaking thing ):
2nd takoyaki shop I visited: Creo-ru
This was REALLY GOOD! Look how mine has a special soft boiled onsen egg - you just smash it and rub all the golden yolk goodness over the takoyakis.
OOIISHHHIIIII!
I find it hard to toss up a favourite! Every store is so good - please let me know if you tried one that is so special and would like to share (:
