I remember my first break up. Oh, it really wasn't a nice one. I remember losing a number of friends over it. But anyway, I spent the next 4 years trying to be-friend my ex again. One day I met him on the overhead bridge, and I said something along the lines of " Hello, oh, you seem different. "
And he said to me " As times goes by, things change, people change, we are not the same anymore"
And that really left an impression on me. Over the years, I just haven't seem to be able to forget that exact moment and how this phrase was said.
I guess it's true how people say that, no matter what mistakes was made, how it ended, whether it's more your fault or not why it ended, nobody ever forgets their first love.
That being said, there's this restaurant which I used to frequent previously when I just started medical school. It's called Grace Establishment. I remember I used to bring family, friends over to this restaurant whenever they came to visit.
Then, I don't know what happened. New shops of different names started occupying the space. Maybe they changed name, changed management? I don't know. As I started frequenting other restaurants, I stopped caring.
The other day Victor suggested going to Stone's Throw, and it was after I plotted into the GPS that I realised, HEY! Isn't this where Grace Establishment used to be?
The whole concept, the whole vibe suddenly became familiar again once I stepped into the place. It was like.. being reunited with an old friend....
A dozen oysters to start the meal is always a good choice ($30)
Anchovies ($20)
THIS IS A MUST ORDER -- fried zucchini flower ($8 for ONE FLOWER) so expensive, but you have to order !
Ricotta gnocchi with milk braised oxtail ($30)
I dare say this was my favourite dish of the night, had a huge urge to order another bowl of this! BEST GNOCCHI I'VE HAD.
Octopus salad
Can't remember what this was. ?beef ?lamb
Tuscan bread salad ($24)
Some bread pieces were simply too hard, I'm actually quite certain some enamel chipped off from my tooth :/ I heard the crack :/
Such a nice ambience, this restaurant is a perfect place to spruce up those instagram pictures.
The food was really good as well.
Just that, maybe hold up the thought of doing your first date here, it was quite noisy and I found myself having to project my voice quite abit. But definitely a recommend if you're up for a girls'/boys'/family night out !
