There's this restaurant that we always refer to as Orana's sister restaurant. It used to be called Street, then they underwent some renovations and changed the name to Blackwood restaurant and now just newly opened for 6 weeks Bistro Blackwood. But we've been told by the service staff that it's still under the same management except they wanted to try new concepts.

The first time we went to Street, we remember that some of the dishes that were served in Orana were also offered in Street. And since Orana was named TOP restaurant in Australia this year, we have not been able to secure another booking this year. And so we decided to dine at Bistro Blackwood. Hopefully perhaps some of the dishes offered at Orana will also be on the menu at Bistro Blackwood!

Was initially so disappointed to see this sour dough bread instead of the tampers they used to serve. But anyway, the excellent hummus made up for it (:

Bread and spiced red lentil hummus $9

Crispy golden prawn roti with fermented chilli $20

we ordered this dish because it was recommended as the staple dish of the restaurant. Furthermore, ROTI IS SUPER ASIAN. I AM ASIAN HENCE I MUST ORDER SUPER ASIAN FOOD :D

The creme fraiche gravy was so delicious!

I'm never a fan of lamb because most of the lamb I had when I was younger used to have this really strong smell. However, my impression of lamb is really starting to change. All the good australia restaurants have spoiled me too much! The lamb at these good places are always so soft and minimal meat smell.
