Talking about wonderful, Nick and I just came back from sukiyabashi Jiro Roppongi and the food quality is simply magnificent. More on that once I start catching up with my other posts.
We were in Shibuya on our second day and we decided to drop by this korean yakiniku restaurant Hanno Daidokoro. I first knew about this restaurant thru some random suggested post on Instagram, and also came across it when I was searching up trip advisor ( because Nick hates it when I don't plan our meals ahead and if we don't eat something good)
The picture directly above is their yamagata beef lunch special, which essentially comes from the same cow as the first picture. we got both sets of the second last column.
Each set comes with free flow salad, drinks and side dishes from the salad bar, rice and soup.
Everybody talks about Kobe beef but I dare say yamagata beef is nowhere inferior. This is possibly the yummiest tastiest beef you can ever get for this price.
Hi The fatty cow owner,
ReplyDeleteWould like to check with you the direction walking to Han No Daidokoro from JR Shibuya, takes about how many minutes by walking. Secondly, what is the pricing like in sgd for like ala carte Kobe beef. Thirdly, is the place spacious enough to accomodate 5pax?
And it would be great if you can share abit of your itinerary of your japan trip. Greatly appreciate.
Thank you in advance. Would really love to visit this place so much :)
Hi Linda,
Delete1) Get out of shibuya station, head in the direction of shibuya 109 and get onto dogenzaka avenue. The building is called dogenzaka centre, which would involve you crossing the road from the side you started on. Its about 200m from shibuya station, so don't walk for too far (: level 4.
2) Just to clarify, they serve yamagata beef, not kobe beef. but its said that the quality is no/not much of a difference but a matter of location and origin of the cattle. Then yen has dropped quite alot since a few years back. Sorry I cant remember the exact figures for ala carte, but vaguely, I think that it costs markedly more than the set and hence probably at least SGD 40-50+ for something sizeable.
3) yes, its huge, so more than enough space to accomodate 5pax. However, that will likely depend on the crowd for that day given its popularity.
Yeah, I'm more than happy to share our itinerary. As a rough sketch, we spent 2-3 days shopping/walking at ginza, shibuya, omotesando, akihabara, shinjuku and harajuku. Thereafter we spent 1 day at odaiba and another at hakone. if you need anymore information, do feel free to ask.
cheers (:
