Melbourne day 1

Hi! So we apologise for the long hiatus. We've just been too busy with uni to keep this updated. But now that fatty #1 has officially completed medical school ( congrats on becoming a new doctor ) and fatty #2 has ended her final medical school exams, we have more time to eat and update this space.

So, I decided to take a really impromptu trip down to Melbourne the day after my last exam.

I touched down at 8am and I begged Sam to take me to chez dre, I had such a good experience earlier this year. Unfortunately, I think chez dre isn't as good as it is anymore ): nonetheless, I enjoyed my egg and spinach compote. Sam's peas breakfast was just.... Eew. I really doubt I'll visit chez dre anymore unless they bring back their egg Benedict royale! Yum !

So I got told that they moved their dessert to the shop beside - bibelot

Really pretty plating !
Unfortunately, it didn't taste as good as it looks. And this cost Samuel 30bucks wtf I should have checked the price before ordering ! I didn't think it would cost so much when it wasn't even good.

Sorry chez dre, you're struck off my list until you pick up your game ):

Went over to Adriano Zumbo after

Oh the left is the Nutella v8 cake, yum ! And on the right is some Caramel cake which the shop assistant recommended and they were so good !!

Samuel and I decided to get dinner at chinchin. As usual, the queue was terrible, I think we queued for 45 mins just to live our number. I suggested going over to hihou for drinks while we wait to get called over for dinner.

I wasn't exactly pleased with hihou. It has been advertised as the up and coming cool drinks place, but the waiter seemed so judgemental, I'm not sure if it's because Sam and I were Asians, I really hope not. But we were placed in this dark corner and I swear if I died there
Nobody would know. And we didn't get served until a long time, it seriously was as though we were forgotten. The drinks were slightly on the pricier side ($23 for each cocktail). I guess that's alright as its a pretty upmarket place but they took really long to come too.

Finally got a table at chinchin at 8pm. This is 1.5 hours after leaving our numbers :/

This is their suckling pig wrap.

Kingfish carpaccio. Pretty spicy :p

I've fallen in love with their son in law eggs. They make the perfect eggs ever

Just look at the egg yolk ! Wow

Beef ribs, really yummy .

The price is really reasonable too. Set us back $84 for this dinner.
Desserts at chinchin didn't really catch my fancy, so we headed off to MESSINA !

ABSOLUTELY DELISH.
